I decided to purchase this one because it met and exceeded my requirements for a NETBOOK. The specs on this baby match up better than most. Great keyboard and mouse, keys feel great, wireless n, fast boot, upgradeable from 1GB to 2GB, user friendly ASUS Bios updater interface, Microsoft works, lightweight. You must understand first the context of my statement. I wanted a NETbook. Not a Laptop. I didnt want an “ultimate” or Professional” version of ANYTHING running on this NETbook. I wanted it to be lean and mean. I wanted a small, powerful, convenient AND FAST NETbook for casual surfing and email. If you wanted more, your in the wrong market. I didnt buy this to play games, edit, video, watch TV or DVD’s, etc. Like I said I didn’t want a Laptop. Windows Starter 32 bit is an excellent match for a NETbook. Think of Windows 7 Starter as just that, the place to start. I figured, if I NEED an “anytime upgrade” Ill get it. At this point, having had used it for a week, I’m not changing a thing. Less is more with a NETbook. Ill save upgrades for my LAPtop and DESKtop. From when I push the power button to my first opening click of Firefox = less than one minute. I removed some preloaded crapware, i.e. ASUS whistles and bells and some preloaded games. Added Norton Internet Security Netbook Edition, and bingo, the perfect NETbook.

I have owned this netbook now for about a month-purchased for a trip to Italy so I could load photos, Skype back home and also have internet available to look up things about the places we were going to or had already been. It was perfect for that. Also handy for the long flight-my wife plays scrabble and we downloaded the game and this kept her busy for a while. The matte screen is fantastic, it is bright and glare free. Windows 7 starter loads quickly and has just about all the features you need. It also has a faster loading operating system (FastBoot) if you want to use it for just browsing the internet. It has bluetooth and I got a great little Microsoft Bluetooth mouse to use with it. Also battery life is more than adequate but not sure if it goes up to 11 hours. A lot of thought went into designing this netbook and I think overall it’s perfect, especially for the price.

I bought this for my husband and we both love using it around the house and taking it on trips. I love that it has bluetooth. Printing from his laptop was such a pain because it didn’t have bluetooth-definitely a feature to look for, especially if you have a bluetooth printer. The battery lasts ~5-6 hours, or less if it’s been sitting around unplugged for awhile, but I don’t really need a computer for longer than a couple of hours at a time when I’m somewhere without a plug. Even if you go to a coffee shop or library, you can usually wait around for an hour or so and someone near an outlet will move. I guess it might not be ideal for long flights if you were planning to work the whole time. In my opinion, the only thing that could make it better was if it was a Mac, but I can bear a PC for the added convenience and the fact that it was SO cheap.

Acer Aspire One AOD150-1669 10.1-Inch Seashell White Netbook - 6.5 Hour Battery Life Review

I previously had a Sony Vaio 15 in’ screen and I didn’t like the weight and the mess of carrying it around, however I love this netbook, it’s really fast to get on and off, programs run quick and it’s extremely light and easy to carry anywhere, I recommend it. It came with windows XP which I prefer to vista (I’ve not tried windows 7 yet). Great product for a little price.
