Toshiba Mini NB205-N210 (NB200 series) 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 9 Hour Battery Life Review

Toshiba Mini NB205-N210 (NB200 series) 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 9 Hour Battery Life
This is an awesome machine with lots of power and style. I can find no downside: even with only 1gb main memory (expandable to two) I can do anything I want with it. Yes, HD video can have playback issues (waiting for the large files to load) but most everything else is spot on.

The keboard is excellent even for larger laptops. If I were to look for caveat it would be the ability to view in indirect sunlight–you can’t do it well. But seeing I’m usually home or Starbucks, that has not been an issue for me. I am a web designer so at times I deal with large files, the netbook handles them well.

Hercules eCafe EC-1000W 10.1-Inch Netbook - Up to 6 Hours of Battery Life Review

Hercules eCafe EC-1000W 10.1-Inch Netbook - Up to 6 Hours of Battery Life
what i do with my notebook or netbook is this.
Internet surfing, watching youtube/hulu/news clips, listen to pandora/internet radio, and word processing.

My experience of surfing the web with this was great. It was fast and sponteneous. There were no lagging or crashing for over a month of usage. Web sites I visited were major news site, video sites, and some flash heavy sites.

Samsung N150 10.1-Inch Black Matte Netbook - Up to 7 Hours of Battery Life Review

Samsung N150 10.1-Inch Black Matte Netbook - Up to 7 Hours of Battery Life
This is a great net-book for all your needs. Upgrade the RAM to 2GB, remove all the bloatware and Vola! You have a great machine on the go. I installed Microsoft essentials for security. Battery is pretty good (~4-5 hours). I got it for about 9, which is a great price for this netbook. I will recommend this one. One of the best netbooks out there in the market.

ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BK 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 10.5 Hour Battery Life Review

ASUS Eee PC 1005HA-PU1X-BK 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 10.5 Hour Battery Life
I bought this EeePC for videoconferencing at work. My coworkers bring it to meetings on their end, and I call them using Skype. It’s cheaper than any dedicated videoconferencing device that I’ve seen, but the EeePC is a general-purpose computer. Sometimes my coworkers borrow it for presentations, since it’s so portable.

Watch out though! This netbook is so cute that it’s tempting for thieves and is easily hidden in a jacket or purse since it’s so small. My first one was stolen, so I bought another that I keep locked with a combo lock that only a few coworkers know the combo for.

Acer AO532h-2730 10.1-Inch Garnet Red Netbook - Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life Review

Acer AO532h-2730 10.1-Inch Garnet Red Netbook - Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life
Love the computer, hate the OS. Windows 7 is OK in general, despite Microsoft’s senseless screwing around with the structure of “My Documents,” but the “Starter Edition” is an abomination. Seriously? An OS that prevents me from setting a desktop wallpaper? One that won’t let me connect an external monitor at the same time as the built-in screen? This OS is a *huge* step backwards from the Windows XP Home that came on my previous Acer netbook, and Microsoft wants to upgrade it to one without these atrocious and arbitary limitations.

MSI Wind U100-641US 10-Inch Black Netbook - 3 Cell Battery Review

MSI Wind U100-641US 10-Inch Black Netbook - 3 Cell Battery
I keep the wind plugged in (the battery does suck) on my reading table and use it to casually surf the internet, check email and occasionally do a bit of work. I took the advice of another review and removed ms office suite and use open office for my word processor, but rarely have need for it anyway. For my purposes it’s perfect. The keyboard is easy to type on, the screen size is small but fine. Don’t expect anything out of the speakers; just use ear buds. I would not only recommended this product to a friend but wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to buy another one tomorrow for myself if mine was lost or broken.
I hope this helps a someone sitting on the fence.

Gateway LT2032u 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - Over 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Gateway LT2032u 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - Over 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I searched for a netbook for about a week and found that I could get a Toshiba netbook at Best Buy for about the same price that had a slightly faster processor but a smaller hard drive. I decided to go with the Gateway because of the 250 GB hard drive instead of the 120 GB. The slight increase in processor speed on the Toshiba just could not offset the Gateways price of 0 out the door with the larger hard drive. I upgraded the memory to the 2 GB max( Crucial 2GB 256Mx64PC2-5300 CT25664AC667 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory )which really makes a difference only for downloading files or watching video. The battery life seems to be about what is advertised, or maybe slightly better. I removed Norton’s and installed freeware for anti-virus and spyware and will probably remove the Microsoft Office suite because I don’t want to pay 0 for it. For as little as I expect to use it I don’t think that it is worth it on this netbook. I really only expect to use it for traveling which will consist of web use and email, and maybe video chat occasionally. It is built very solidly, and has great styling. As another reviewer stated, the battery does add about an inch to the depth over other netbooks, but this is only an issue for finding a sleeve to carry it in to protect it. I found a sleeve at Wal-Mart (also here at amazon.com) by Targus( Targus 10.2-Inch Slipskin-Peel Netbook Case )that looks great and fits perfectly. It comes in burgundy colored trim that matches exactly. It is slightly more here at amazon.com unless you get the blue trimmed one, which is about half the price as Wal-Mart. If you are looking for a full time computer, a netbook is not for you, but if you want mobility at a great price then I highly recommend this Gateway.

Sony VAIO VPC-W121AX/P 10.1-Inch Pink Netbook - Up to 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Sony VAIO VPC-W121AX/P 10.1-Inch Pink Netbook - Up to 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
This is the newest model (W211AX) of Sony’s Netbooks and has a extended battery life. While others may complain of the battery- I like the fact that it elevates the netbook up towards you. Depending on the surfing you do- you may have a bit less battery life than advertised. I ordered the pink Vaio and couldn’t be more pleased. It was everything I expected it to be and then some. The Track pad is reasonably sized and much larger than most. The screen clarity is amazing. My only complaint is where the speakers are situated for the volume. I simply resolved this issue on my own and use my ipod head phones when listening to sound. To the lower right of screen you may also adjust zoom level. Your options are 100, 125, and 150. If you do increase the zoom level- You do loose a bit of viewing and must scroll from side to side. The keyboard buttons are a bit elevated and makes it easier for typing. The only other downfall that I could say would be that the netbook only comes with Windows 7 Starter. With this program starter version you are unable to change desktop background. Bummer… I love that I can install my SD card and download my photos too. Perfect for web surfing, downloading pics, typing, emails, etc.
AMAZING LITTLE NETBOOK!!!!!!!!
SONY CONTINUES TO IMPROVE THEIR APPEARANCE, MODELS INTERIOR, AND STAND BY THE SONY NAME WITH EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!
